Practical Politics 101...What Bernie Can & Can't Say & Why You Should Be Excited

WOW!

After a week that started with an Ex-President threatening to commit even more election fraud, and then actually following thru on his threat...and having more ballots uncounted, than the declared victor even received, Berners spent what seemed like an eternity, being told by, oh...the entire world, how Bernie was a dead man whining, and should "Get out now"!

Bernie, for his part, responded by taking whatever the President had to offer during a private meeting at the White House, and exiting to deliver a response that every network reported as "Phase 1" of his exit strategy. Now, I kinda sorta saw the same statement Bernie gave. And frankly, I do believe if you play it backwards at 78 RPMs (ask a Boomer, if you don't know)...you can actually here John Lennon saying, "Hillary is dead".

I mean, are you really initiating an exit strategy when you check your watch while meeting with  the leader of the free world, before politely excusing yourself to go hang out for an hour with 10,000 of your closest friends...at a campaign rally, for the campaign that same president spent the last hour suggesting, was over?

I'm not thinking so.

But, I confess...come Sunday morning, I was as spooked as people who haven't campaigned for Bernie in 22 states. Why the need for a press conference? Why 5 pm? Why on the lawn of your front yard? All of a sudden, I was back in my very first presidential campaign, and Daniel Patrick Moynihan was calling the entire staff and telling us to report to the Well of the Senate at 6 AM, because "the Candidate," Bob Kerry. had "an important statement to make".

He was quitting.

So... this morning, I called the person who texted me at 3 am, last night, and told me that we were "full speed ahead"...just to make sure that our cars were pointing in the same direction. And, even though I have done nothing but watch Bernie get madder and madder, and angrier and angrier, pretty much since the Nevada State Convention...the ghost of Bob Kerry actually had  me trying to find out if Burlington, Vermont had any unemployed Teamsters who could pay the Candidate "a little visit" a few minutes before five.

Then, I heard Bernie speak, though not without a minor "bandwith issue" that put me on about a 17 minute delay (Boomers, ask the grand kids).

By the time I actually heard the announcement, I already had 27 emails, 11 text messages, 5 Facebook messages and 2 angry Tweets, that ALL started with the word "Fuck" and ended with the word "him," or "that Asshole"...not one of which had even so much as a 2nd sentence.

When I followed up on the first one, I was told, "HE'S PREACHING PART UNITY...HE SOLD US OUT...DOESN'T HE GET THAT WE WILL NEVER VOTE FOR THE SHILL?"

Okay, okay, I thought...how do I tell my great friends, colleagues and equally rabid Berners...what Bernie DID say, and DIDN'T say...and WHY...without having Penn & Teller sue me for hacking the concept of their wildly popular TV show where they tell you how some of the greatest magic tricks are really accomplished.

Well...since I'm not even the smartest guy in the room when I'm the only one in it, I knew this was going to be quite the challenge.

But, here goes...

Ignore for the moment that I hold a degree IN Political Science, two Law Degrees, or that I'm currently a student in a Masters Program in Political Campaign Management, while jointly enrolled in a PhD Program in Political Science...in reality, this is just me, sitting in a hotel room, waiting for my roommate to return and 'terprit the NASCAR results for me. For now...this is just Billy V...and the 10,000 people a day who are now reading this Blog.

And, we're just expressing an opinion or two, and hoping not to piss each other off in the process.

How about we begin at the beginning?

Bernie is an Independent, running for president, as a Democrat...who had been accused from the day he announced, of not being a real Democrat...even though he has caucused with the Democratic Party since Herbert Hoover was selling blankets and pencils on street corners for a nickel a piece.

So...his allegiances always in question, Bernie was forced to spend as much time defending his Democratic chops, props and bona fides...

And NOW, when it appears at least to people named Clinton and Obama (but nahhhhhht "Biden") that the race is over, and that Bernie should rally his troops in support of another Democrat...his every word is again being viewed, reviewed, and re-re-viewed, by once again...EVERYONE, in order to locate that ONE WORD, which will allow at least one of them to suggest that they KNEW IT ALL ALONG. HE'S AN INDEPENDENT, In FACT...he's not only Ralph Nader. He's Ralph Nader's illegitimate son, who was JUST WAITING to VINDICATE the family name!

And...while all of THIS is going on, Bernie will still end up wining California, and showing up to the Democratic Convention with some 1900+ Pledged Delegates, and as many Superdelegates as can be cajoled.

Oh, yeah...and THEN there's that little matter of ONE of the candidates being investigated by the FBI, for what looks at this point, to be about two dozen or more felonies, even before you get to any consideration of the Clinton Global Money Laundering & RICO Enterprise.

So...

Bernie, for some reason has a family/staff retreat (no "pow-wows" in this campaign) at his home on a Sunday. And, SOMEONE tells him...Bernie...You GOTTA say SOMETHING. Every network has been saying we're out. We have to fire up the troops!

Well...to WHOEVER that might have been who made that suggestion, let me say that a VERY WISE MAN once told me, "Sometimes...the best thing to say...IS NOTHING"!

And, in this case, the truth is that WAY too many Berners DID NOT hear what Bernie said today. They heard two words, over and over again...

"PARTY UNITY"... Which, by the way, after watching the tape now FIVE TIMES...Bernie didn't actually say, ONCE.

Let me suggest a scenario that may help explain the degree of difficulty that Our Candidate is dealing with right now.

Forget the press. They haven't changed one iota, or even a mere scintilla, since this campaign began. Why would they do so, now? AND, take heart...every 24/7 cable news outlet, whether they want to admit it or not, are NICHE NETWORKS. The people who watch them today...are the people who watched them yesterday (except for those who don't watch them anymore at all). NO ONE, is waking up on Monday morning and saying to themselves, "Hey, I think I'll stay home from work and watch 23 hours of CNN, today". It JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN. The people who were watching Wolf Blitzer, yesterday, and using their best "Astro Jetson" voice to yell "Rook at the Rimp...Rook at the Rimp"...every time Wolf saunters over to "The Magic Wall"...are the same people who are gonna be back mocking his talentless pile of  wasted flesh, again today.

So...CNN isn't going to say anything nice about Bernie at a 5:00 PM Presser. But, since virtually everyone still watching CNN already has an opinion about Bernie one way or the other...FORGET THEM. They are so far more irrelevant than you could begin to imagine.

On the other hand...there are millions and millions of voters, many of whom are Democratic, and many of whom will have a role of sorts at the Democratic Convention...that Bernie DOES have to be concerned about.

Could Bernie have come out of the White House of Thursday, strolled up to the microphone and said, "After careful consideration and numerous visits to proctologists in 27 States, 3 Commonwealths and the District of Columbia...I have concluded that I no longer desire to be deep-dicked by The Clinton Crime Family, it's Pennsylvania Avenue Subsidiary, or a woman from Rat's Mouth who is about to be unseated by Tim Canova...and I am henceforth and forthwith announcing my Independent candidacy for president".

Sure...

He COULD have said that.

But then...what happens to the 1900+ Pledged Delegates?

The DNC Credentials Committee meets one week before the convention, for a number of reasons... But, one of those reasons, is to hear Challenges to the credentials or right...of any Pledged delegate to actually participate in the convention, the following week.

And, why is it that the DNC and the Clintons REALLY want Bernie OUT NOW?

Because he has coffee breath that he couldn't get rid of since Iowa?

No...

So that the Party can nominate and elect Mrs. Clinton by acclamation, or on a voice vote, AS A VOICE VOTE WAS USED, where...

At the Nevada State Convention.

Acclamation suggests, or rather DECLARES the kind of unanimity that is felt to be needed by the Party as it moves into a confrontation with Donald Trump.

Bill Clinton wanted that in 1992, when he faced a challenge from the now Dementia Patient serving as California's current Governor.

When Jerry Brown ran against Bill Clinton in 1992, Jerry took HIS campaign... 'ALL THE WAY TO THE CONVENTION".

And, when Jerry wouldn't GET OUT, prior to the convention, and give Bill Clinton center stage every night, and a VOICE VOTE acclamation to the nomination...Bill Clinton's campaign filed Credential's Committee Challenges to virtually ALL Brown Delegates, seeking to strip these HARD WORKING DEMOCRATS who won elections of their own, many having to raise or borrow money to attend the convention...from even being admitted to the building.

I know this, ya see, because I was the lawyer who represented those Brown Delegates in their hearings before the Credentials Committee. And, WHO sits at the head of the committee that will make those Credentials decisions...

Debbie Wasserman-Schitz.

Not thinking Bernie, or his supporters are gonna get anything other that a semi-lubed rubber glove, two fingers and hearty Hi-Ho SILVER, at those hearings

So...does Bernie have to be somewhat careful about what he says these days?

Uh-huh.

Now...about this "meeting" with Mrs. Clinton.

YES! YES, Friends...Bernie DOES know that Mrs. Clinton has absolutely NO INTEREST in his Agenda.

YES, he DOES know that Mrs' Clinton will ABSOLUTELY say "anything to get elected". Even that guy who endorsed her on Thursday, said that, 8 years ago.

YES. He knows that WHATEVER she agrees to, will be agreed to, ONLY until she is formally nominated BY ACCLAMATION...and even before the Clinton Delegates are directed from the rostrum, to fling their own poo, and the nearest Berniecrat.

BUT...WHAT IF???

What if one of those pesky indictments DOES unseal itself BEFORE the convention?

And, WHAT IF...Bernie had come out of his 5 PM presser today, and either announced an Independent run, OR, sounded like he was about to BLOW THIS PARTY UP?

Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know what you're thinking... Pretty mellow talk from the guy who started the hashtag, #BernieOrBlowThisFuckerUp!

Perhaps, but...I see a MUCH BIGGER PICTURE HERE. In my picture, Bernie doesn't really go out of his way to piss anybody off right now. OF COURSE, I go after The Clinton Crime Family, EVERY DAY. Of course YOU SHOULD be highlighting all of the reasons why Mrs. Clinton should be disqualified...EVERY DAY.

But, JUST IN CASE, an indictment unseals... And, just in CASE, Joe Biden can't get enough Clinton Delegates fast enough to counter the charge which WE SHOULD ALREADY BE PLANNING AND REHEARSING... in a sense, and very sadly, we need those establishment Democrats AT LEAST until we are sure we really DON'T need them.

Now...

Does this mean that suggesting that he will MEET with Clinton is selling out?

Does it mean that pledging to take your campaign to the convention, is selling out?

Does it mean that suggesting that you want to pursue YOUR AGENDA to try to influence the Party Platform, ELIMINATES ANY AND ALL OTHER OPTIONS that might exist, or present themselves between now and the middle of July?

No.

Hell no.

And, FUCK NO!

SHOULD the campaign be playing WHAT IF's and WAR GAMES...EVERY FUCKING DAY, right now? YOU BET YOUR ASS.

Should Bernie EVER capitulate?  NOT IF HE WANTS TO GET A GAME OF JACKS with anyone who ever gave him a dollar?

Does Bernie honestly GET that the poll showing that 92% WILL NEVER VOTE for a Democrat in 2016 WHO IS NOT NAMES BERNARD SANDERS?

I believe, he do.

So, where do we all go from here?

Let Bernie be "A GOOD DEMOCRAT"...for now, and say ALL of the things, that a good Democrat needs to be heard saying, by other Democrats, who just can't wait for that one last chance to stick a knife, or assorted body part, just a little farther into Our Guy.

Let Bernie buy the time that we need to buy, in order to determine if the Democratic Nomination really is behind us...OR, whether my new BFF, "E Pluribus Comey," will soon be riding into frame, with a lasso, a zip-tie, and a 25 Count Indictment.

Let the smartest people Bernie knows, explore WHAT MIGHT, COULD, or OUGHT TO happen, WHEN it becomes known that Mrs. Clinton decided LONG AGO, to run as far right as she can go, during a General Election Campaign...

And, while we are understanding that EVEN BERNIE is forced to play jes' a lil bit of "politics" for the next month...

Let's let Bernie KNOW that WE WILL NEVER ABANDON HIM.

If Bernie is the nominee of the Democratic Party, by virtue of Indictment or other Divine Intervention...BONUS.

If there is a 3rd Party Run in our future...and, personally, I HOPE THERE IS AND AM PREPARED FOR IT...Double Bonus!

But...Friends, let me let EVERYONE in on what we started yesterday, on Twitter.

The average contribution to the campaign, as we all know, is, or rather WAS...$27.00.

I put together a plan, weeks ago, to prepare for a General Election Campaign.

This Plan calls for 2,000,000 Americans to donate $54.00/month and to commit to donating for 5 months. The Plan is called...

"HALF A BILLION 4 BERNIE"...

And will FULLY FUND a general election campaign NO MATTER WHAT COLOR our states appear ON THE MAGIC WALL.

We have already had HUNDREDS of people make the pledge, and in fact, already send in their first contribution of $54.00.

JOIN US.

If Bernie is conflicted about whether or not to make this Independent effort THAT WE ALL WANT HIM TO MAKE...

How much easier will it be, to get the man to keep on keepin' on...

IF HE IS RAISING OVER $100,000,000 a month, toward A GUARANTEED...

"HALF A BILLION 4 BERNIE"?

And when you do make this commitment...TEXT JANE. TEXT BERNIE TEXT NINA, TULSI, The DANNY's, SPIKE, MIKE, MARK, ROSARIO, CORNELL and anyone else you can think of. TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE PART OF...

"HALF A BILLION 4 BERNIE"

...and that you will GO ANYWHERE WITH AND FOR BERNIE...

EXCEPT, into a voting booth to DISHONOR BERNIE SANDERS...BY VOTING FOR HILLARY CLINTON.

What Bernie DID today, was tell you IN THE ONLY WAY HE COULD. that THIS IS NOT AN END...IT IS A BEGINNING!

Many of you know me. But, to those that don't...Ask someone who does.

I will crawl on my hands and knees through broken glass to elect Bernie Sanders. And, like you, had Bernie suspended the campaign at 5 PM... I wold still be in a fetal position, motherfucking every human and God, TWO TIMES...while simultaneously advising my Canadian Family to expect a permanent house guest...or at least a fourth for pinochle, for the next 40 years.

I would not tell you that the world is still round, if it weren't.

I BELIEVE, as a former Federal Prosecutor...that Mrs. Clinton has a better chance of getting indicted than she does of even being allowed to enter the convention center. And, there will be no happier Big Dog on the PLANET when THAT indictment is unsealed, than yours truly.

PIZZA AT BILLY'S PLACE, on THAT day.

But...to all those who think that there aren't "other things" being discussed...

(shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...Be vewy, vewy quiet. We'we hunting Cwintons! Ahahahahahahaha)

One Candidate
One Voice
We Are ALL THE BERN
WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED
WE WILL NOT BE DEFEATED
WE WILL...CHANGE THE WORLD!

  1. Can you also talk about what Obama and the others "can and can't say" assuming there will be an indictment? By the way, when Bernie came out of of his 1/27 private meeting with Obama, he said that they discussed foreign policy, the economy, and "a little bit of politics". People also noted that he was smiling.

Despite all odds, I still only saw Bernie Sanders as our next President. We love him so much. He is the Father of our Country which is what a real President is supposed to be --at least when I was a child. I am 70 years old now but Bernie seems like the dad I never had and I think he represents this to a lot of young people and old young like myself. I appreciate this article so much and will reread many times. I will have good dreams tonight! Power to Bernie and "people have the power" as Patti Smith sings. 5. Personally, it's been a pretty rough weekend for me and for a lot of young millennials (and oldsters who previously didn't pay much attention to politics before this election cycle) who learned the humiliation and disappointment of betrayal this week. For me, that means mourning something I was deeply invested in emotionally, lots of crying and choking it back down to arrive at a very cynical state in which I can only 'shake my damned head' at your persistent optimism. Obama isn't going to let the FBI thing go anywhere. How else do you explain his meeting with Loretta Lynch right after sitting with Bernie? Why do you think Bernie went straight to Burlington? Why do you think he already has a sit down planned with Killary? This is the way an exit looks when you have a tide of people organizing to march in faith on Philly. People that you know are going to be upset, maybe some of them hurt physically, and haven't realized yet that the Revolution will move forward, but without Bernie. If he is nothing else, he is a man of his word. He promised to take it to the convention. He promised to run a positive campaign. He showed us how it can be done. He set the policy. He woke us up. But he also said he would not be a 'spoiler' (whether he would be or not, if he ran as an Independent). I just can't help but think this thing is winding down for Bernie. The indictments will go quietly into that good night. Hillary and Bill will take up residence again. Obama will be holding the door open as they arrive. And if we want any of these policies, we have to start at the ground up locally running for office and organizing a new, uncorrupt political party while the two we've got here and now implode.

    1. Obama does not control the FBI, and certainly NOT Jim Comey. Obama has had that conversation with Comey...and he lost. Obama met with Lynch because SHE WORKS FOR HIM.THEY MEET ROUTINELY. Bernie went to Burlington for the weekend...because that's where he lives. He's meeting with the Shill, because, as I said in the Blog...that's what is expected of a person in his position.HE HAS 1900 PLEDGED DELEGATES. WHO IN THERE RIGHT MIND WOULD EXPECT HIM NOT TO GO TO PHILADELPHIA?

Read my postings on Guccifer and his plea deal. Do you REALLY BELIEVE Obama would hinge his legacy on a 2008 promise that was extorted from him by the Clintons?

The Clintons wont even get to the White House on a TOUR when this is over.

Take heart. This IS the beginning, not the end.

      Delete
    2. RE Obama's legacy. He ENDORSED HER. He had the video done before he even met with Bernie. I believe he's complicit. I'll re-read the Guccifer post again. But what does a candidate do with 1900 pledged delegates against a corrupt DNC/ MSM? How does he win a nomination because of some crook's indictment as the loser of a rigged election? Is that what we're holding hope for? How do we justify that to the Killarydroids that will be crying in the streets? Ugh, I'm sorry, I'm so lost. I once believed in a god. Then I studied the Bible and lost my faith. I'm not one to believe on faith anymore, on any issue. My veins run red with depression by default, so this is really difficult to see, and to bear.

  10. Billy, someone on twitter claiming to have deep connected info in the campaign is saying that Bernie has no intention to run Independent/Green. Is this true?

    1. Bernie was legitimately surprised that the campaign took off like it did. But, whatever he thought about changing the Party, before having Party-sanctioned fraud committed in 20 states...he doesn't think that way, today. Whatever Bernie wanted in 2015...today, he wants to be President.

I thought he was pretty clear about where he was going and doing but was still feeling a bit down over it. A woman in a FB group commented that she had been watching the group behind him, the ones he'd met with, and there are times when they're looking pretty smug and quite pleased. I watched, and while they look sad and serious at times I had to agree. There's more here

Like Billy here, he has called out the likes of Warren, Maddow, Cenk, Tom Hartmann for just crossing that line of accepting and supporting ANYONE other than Bernie. He is a last hold out trying to present news and keep Bernie supporters upbeat. If he could be paid, because he needs to support a family, he might be someone to approach about doing a permanent, unretouched video stream that you're suggesting.

    4. unfortunately I have read of a scenario where Clinton isn't indicted you see Clinton e-mailed the President from that server which means he knew about it because he replied to 2 of them. Thus it is possible the backing of her may be giving into blackmail because if he also is guilty then he might also face jail time. Makes me wonder if Warren also knew.

  17. Hey! THANKS! So tired of the, "will he, won't he...." I'm learning a lot from Bernie. The main thing I see him do is not explain himself. He looked the President of the United States in the eyes and said, "No, Thank You, I'll go my own way." What chutzpah! I think he knows he is doing this for all of us. He presents himself as a viable candidate no matter what anyone says about him, and he has a right to. Remarkable that we have become a family of millions. People have certainly spent a lot of time thinking about what to do if.... Lord, I don't worry about voting for WHN (What's Her Name). I like the BBC news comment that said, "It's not that Mr. Sanders & his most dedicated supporters aren't going down without a fight. It's that they're not going down." 20. Don't want to be anonymous - just seems the simplest. I hope that you are not discounting the suit filed by those two attorneys from Ohio. Although, I don't know if they will continue with it in the intended fashion if Bernie asks them not to. But why would Bernie ask them NOT to prove election fraud and hand him his rightful nomination, you ask? I had a feeling, and I really hope I'm extremely wrong, that Bernie may be feeling that it is necessary to pull the party together because someone convinced him that a scandal of the magnitude of election fraud being proved in a presidential election might send the country into chaos, and, heaven forbid!, screw with the economy. One of the attorneys said that they had been in touch with "the campaign" but they received a cool reception, or words to that effect. Putting my paranoid fear aside, though, since they can prove that the exit polls were really very far outside the MoE standard set by the UN and thereby, according to UN (meaning US, since we run the UN) standards, there is fraud in 11 states, at least, plus California, AND they say these numbers will be made public BEFORE the convention, we have every reason to be elated. That is, if Bernie hasn't lost his nerve - or his trust in the citizenry. [Disclaimer: It is 4am, and after the gamut of emotions of the day and several brandies, I tend more than usual toward run-on sentences and disjointed thoughts. I maintain, however, that there is a valid, and very possibly important, thought in there.]

    1. Nope...not discounting their suit. in fact, there are 2 other suits, and will be two more. With that, plus the prospect of indictment, I absolutely believe that there is a definite path or pathways to the Democratic nomination, as well.

      Delete
    2. Just a side note. That lawsuit which was supposed to be filed on June 7th has been postponed. (see trustvote.org) They say they want to include the CA results in the lawsuit. I find it odd that they would not have thought of this before promising the world a June 7th filing date, and yes, an actual assurance that Bernie won and they will prove it in time for the convention. Looks like after they got my donation, and probably many more, they have changed plans and stopped making videos that let us know what is going on.

  25. Like you Billy I was filled with dread at the news of a 5 pm new conference on a Sunday which definitely did not lessen when the livestream never happened. I was convinced Bernie was going to call it a day, so I was monumentally relieved when that was not the message.

I agree that our guy is walking a razor thin tightrope in a race against time trying to successfully navigate the morass (figuratively and literally as in "more ass") of what used to be my Party.

I do get the idea, however, that Bernie did to a large extent rule out an independent run given what he said last night - and if he is taking this to the convention - doesn't that mean that the deadline to get on the ballot as an independent would have already lapsed by the end of July?

I do think there is strategy that could work to force the FBIs and administration hand. Screw whether indictments are filed by the convention. The message - as it seems to me - is to start talking about the fact that the lack of the FBI reporting at all - and certainly reporting no indictment - is prima facie evidence that there should be. If enough people start talking about the fact that there is no incentive for there not to be resolution clearing Hillary, the only alternative is that
    their finding will not.

As the Washington Post urged in their story about the IG report - the FBI should move swiftly to conclude their investigation so that its put before the voters in November, the fact that they have not or will not communicates in my opinion that no news is definitely not good news - for her. And to get enough people and reporters asking Why? as Why won't they finish? Why won't they release FOIA docs? could be just as effective as them actually doing it. What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There ARE multiple paths to the Democratic nomination. however, don'e rule out the independent option. As I stated, he really CAN'T talk about that now, without virtually eliminating the ability to assume the D nomination in the event of indictment.

      Delete
    2. If I were a republican like Comey, I would wait until she was already the nominee and a good distance into the general campaign before I blew the whistle on her. The DNC would not have time to regroup before the vote. She already knows this but she is willing to take the whole left down with her, that is just how selfish the Clintons are!

  31. Billy, Thanks for providing a huge does of hope and sanity. I do have a question since you are so knowledgeable about the political process, if you'll indulge me. I see constant conflicting information on this topic. Is it not, in fact, too late for Bernie to run as an Independent, or a write-in? I know various states do not allow write-ins, and in others they have to be registered in advance, etc and so forth. Isn't an Independent run, essentially, out of the question? I know that a Green ticket run with Jill is perhaps on the table. I am just curious as to whether there is an ACTUAL path forward if Queen Hillary does take her throne?

    ReplyDelete

    1. There is a path forward. It isn't easy, and that is why a Half Billion 4 Bernie was born.

The McCall Posting on FB, about write ins IS A LIE! McCall is a known Clinton Shill, and he has since admitted the info is wrong. The siye he refers you to IS A SPOOF SITE OWNED BY A CHINESE NATIONAL.

Green is the best option now, as some states are already closed to new Parties. At best, Greens look to be ready in about 42 states by November, missing VA & NC, from among swing States.

      Still...IT CAN BE DONE!

  32. I am a retired attorney. Personal Injury not Criminal.

I believe recommendations will be made by the FBI for indictments as 18 US Code 793 (f) only requires gross negligence. Her habitual use of an unprotected server makes gross negligence a no brainer. I get gross negligence. That is in my wheelhouse.

But my question is this. How do you get quick indictments from the DoJ? I don't see that at all. I think protocol would be to appoint a special prosecutor and have a special grand jury. Those two things would take the better part of a year to get an indictment.

So tell me how you think indictments are possible by July 25. I don't see it, especially now that we know Pagliano has use immunity not blanket immunity as some have suggested.

But Criminal law is not my field; I would be delighted to be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No need for special prosecutor, anf Lynch has said same thing. Much of case v Hillary is developed. Parts of it are lay downs. Issue now is, as happens...investigation has ID'D MANY new areas of inquiry.

I still believe chances are good, for pre-convention indictments.

The character of Pagliano's immunity is actually a PLUS, as it shows they didn't NEED him, as much as originally thought. GucciFer's plea deal made it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR...She is HAD!

It COUlD easily go longer, but...Comey knows that would mean delegitimizing an entire election.

      Delete
    2. So you think Lynch will present this to a regular grand jury? Or do you think a special grand jury was empanelled a long time ago. Where? DC or NY?

I don't know the make up of federal grand juries there but both places are Clinton strongholds. Not seeing an easy indictment either place no matter how slam dunk. Plus I think they would be inclined to deliberate a while.

      Delete
    3. And Guccifer's plea deal was only in Northern VA. She did not live there. None of the facts on which his plea deal were made applied to her.

    2. Tweet done. I wanted to add something - we're an extensively military and DOD family. I've watched the Bernie campaign grow and blossom, and become a firm favorite of Veterans. The security violations that Clinton committed (that are reported in the IG report) are, by themselves, a huge offense to anyone that is in any position connected to the military or the DOD - in particular because if anyone else had done even 1/10th of what the IG report says she did they would have been disciplined long ago (like the Ambassador to Kenya that she fired for using private email!).
All this "pull the party together" nonsense, and "vote for the lesser evil" is not only rubbish, but offensive. Our right to vote was bought with blood, sweat, sacrifice and tears. Our right to vote has the blood of servicemen and women on it. It is not a trivial thing. No-one should vote with anything less than their whole heart, mind and soul. To do anything less is to be disrespectful to those that have served and given for that precious right.
I am disabled, but I have donated to Bernie - having never donated to anyone else in my lifetime (I'm over 50). I will continue to donate, and I count it as a privilege to make that donation whenever I possibly can, and for as much as I possibly can. 38. I write this on my Mom's heavenly birthday. She would have been 95 today. So it is in her behalf, and in her memory of the FDR years that we are all hoping that things go well for Bernie and us. Your assessment of things took it to another level, and since we know nothing is written in stone, we can only surmise that something is afoot in the Sanders camp that they are not free to discuss at length in public. That being said, in my humble opinion, and having myself lived through so many sabotages, assassinations, dream killings, I think the GOP (RNC) has had an equal hand in the election fraud process. They would SO MUCH rather face a flawed, indictable candidate than Bernie. We are instrumental in his election and continued support. We cannot count, and should not ever count on the Establishment to support him. That in itself is worrisome to me and many of my friends feel the same way. But we soldier on because it's in our nature to do so. After 50 years of being a Democrat, I have come to the crossroads of resigning en masse along with my other Berners when the time is given, or vote third party. Either and/or both. Thanks for your blog!

  51. Billy, have you, by any chance, listened to this podcast regarding the upcoming RICO case to be filed in Ohio over alleged fraud in the Democratic Primary? One of the Attys filing the case is interviewed and reveals some very stunning info. Just interested in your opinion.

    1. In fact, I was on the phone with that attorney for 2 hours today, with another call planned tonight. I think they have a very good case. The issue in terms of who benefits in the end is...as I've mentioned, RICO cases can be slow to develop and longer to get thru the courts. so...can Bernie truly benefit? Or Is the real winner a candidate who has yet to run a race? Bob, the attorney, is a great lawyer with tons of experience, and is totally politically savvy. But, Bernie's best bet was to challenge the fraud, when we witnessed it...and we did witness it. But, immediate challenges were never filed.

  53. I heard words in his speech which you did not mention. And I took them as a coded reassurance to his supporters.

When asked if he was still an active presidential candidate, he said "I am very good at arithmetic". *Every* time he has *ever* said these words, that I have heard, he was saying that clinton does not have the nomination yet, and cannot get it until july 25th. Basically, that it's not over yet.

He next said basically "we'll let them (the DNC) decide who got the most votes" - saying, to my ears, that he knows of the election fraud this year (duh!), he knows of all the lawsuits in play and about to be in play, and the DNC may decide or be forced to "find out" that they might have miscounted, or found some missing votes somewhere (oops!).

These 2 final phrases in his press conference were aimed at US, to tell us what he could, without making waves or rocking the boat too much. As I've said, forces are now in motion, and they are not big and flashy like primaries or debates... they are undercurrents and underwater riptides, vast powerful forces that cannot be halted, and will unleash a shitstorm all at once.

    Replies
    1. You are RIGHT that those were DEFINITELY code aimed at supporters. I tap danced around the real meaning of those words in today's piece...without really using them because...if I told ALL that Bernie's MEANT, right NOW...I would be handing a battle plan to the Clinton's...that a less angry Bernie would realize...they shouldn't have. Debating how far to go and when...with this info. GREAT question.

  55. I'm in! What about #ExitPollGate ?Have they filed this lawsuit yet? Will it help before the convention or at all? Don't we need to help get Green party on the ballot in all states due to deadlines coming before the convention? And get them up to 15% in the polls to get them in the debates?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Exit poll lawsuit will be filed very soon. It will be in the press during convention period. How much it helps will be determined by how many Superdelegates get religion as the details come out. Any ruling itself would have to come from a BOLD JUDGE in order to have an impact.

The Greens are ON the ballot in 22 states, and project 42 by the time of the election. They MIGHT have been getting help from some friends, up to this point. Only VA & maybe NC are Swing States they arent on yet...but are suing for access in NC. As to the debates...getting to 15% will kinda depend on whether their candidate in in 3 inch heels...or brown oxfords...perhaps.

So our numbers are being counted. They are going to need many many more volunteers for this and as we can imagine for the whole convention. yeh, it is so frickin' exciting.

  60. I had the same thoughts, except for that thing we should ask the kids about after telling them about the 78 rpms. you lost me there. Yes, I almost slipped, but I managed to yes, know, that the 3rd party run is real and we have to wait until omg, really?, the convention??. Maybe we will know something that makes this today 'knowing' even firmer after he talks to her on Tuesday. Maybe but this I say so I can sleep. I know we wait until the Convention. If Bernie switches to run under the Greens next month, won't we need to cancel any recurring donations and use a different contribution method? I'm wondering if such a changeover would cause Bernie to lose contributions or fundraising momentum. Please advise.

Bernie has received many $27 contributions from me, including one last night for him and his two progressive candidates. Have also given to Zephyr Teachout, whom I truly love, eventhough I'm from Ohio! Well, I guess I can push some more and give the $54/mo because I do want this to be the beginning of the revolution and I trust Bernie to make good use of the $$. 1. Forgive any redundancy Billy but I just need to post a compilation of several posts I have made over the months supporting Bernie. As a Rutland, Vermont born 70-year-old USMC Vietnam veteran I have seen our political system DEVOLVE into the sham it is today. I believe that Bernie, the only honest politician to have run for president in recent memory, WILL be our next president come hell or high water. My wife and I donate whatever we can when we can usually between 35 to 100 dollars. We will keep up what we can and hopefully be able to head into DC for Bernie’s inauguration next year. The following is my compilation ending with a quote from the last successful third party candidate.
First: I am so tired of hearing the Establishment sector of the Democratic(?) Party tout Hillary’s three million vote lead. If the millions of uncounted (provisional, deleted from rolls, blocked voters, etc.) votes for Bernie were counted he would more than likely have won by more than three times the “touted lead” in votes the MSM keeps espousing. Also, since the majority of Bernie supporters are not registered as Democrats (or Republican for that matter) how can the DNC demand that they fall in line behind their candidate. If all the Bernie supporters that are registered Democrat were to “fall in line” I believe she still would have a large HILL (pun intended) to climb to get elected.
Second: Time to upend the monopoly board! The game is over. The (R)EVOLUTION is going to reach new heights. After the convention it may be time for Bernie to call Jill Stein and make a VIABLE THIRD PARTY movement. Unlike the Democratic Party's obvious YUGH bowel movement WE the PEOPLE must stand up and UNITE against the establishment. It is now a matter of survival of the 99% in a world under the thumb of the oligarchy. RISE UP PEOPLE, JOIN the (R)EVOLUTION. Humanity MUST EVOLVE
Third: Hello America, quit backing a corrupt system. The whole primary process was rigged. And before you reply, I am not a young millennial who doesn't know shit. I have been politically involved since 1958 on both sides of the aisle as long as the person I supported was honest and had integrity. I used to think Hillary was like that but after watching this election I see that she has been corrupted like most of our politicians. The election fraud has been rampant and our Democracy has been stolen by the oligarchy. There are lawsuits being processed that will make a sham of our Democratic(?) Party's election process.
Fourth: All the MSM crap is the same as what people said of the third party candidacy of Abraham Lincoln. When the people had enough of the Whigs and the Democrats they formed the Republican party (1854) and ran Lincoln as a third party candidate in 1960. Guess what, the people voted the third party candidate into the presidency. Oh just in case you think I am one of the uneducated millennials people wrongly identify the new voters as I have been politically active since working for JFK in 1958 and have voted in every election since I could in 1964. As a Vietnam war veteran I am strongly in support of the peace candidate Bernie Sanders. And, yes, he was robbed of votes in many states. If all the discarded and purged votes were counted Bernie would be ahead by several million votes and that is not including the caucus voters whose numbers don't. get added into the totals given by MSM.
And finally to quote the last third party victor:
“I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.”
—U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, Nov. 21, 1864 (in a letter to Col. William F. Elkins)

Frank Costanza (yes just like on Seinfeld)

  66. Excellent post; thanks much for this Billy! The MSM has us dead in the water but I also believe Bernie and his advisors, not to mention us, his supporters, have a strategy...and I think you've nailed it. He will not bend...hasn't for decades...so have faith all; why the fuck would he start now? Let's keep our chins up and be in it, as Bernie is, for the long haul. I am joining the 1/2 billion movement @ $100 / month (or more if I can) for the duration. Looking forward to Part 2. I myself do a good deal of thinking and writing of paragraph long sentences at 3 a.m. Surprising to discover how much there is to think about round 3 in the morning and you have given me a little more to think about come tomorrow morning, so I think it only fair to return the favor.... What was your personal reaction to Jerry Brown's endorsement of Clinton (I mean as a friend of yours) what did you think and do you think Brown was complicit somehow in the AP call and if so ... do you think Jerry Brown is sleeping well these days? If you have the time (and by the look of this chunky edition you've posted here and voluminous comments and replies in it's wake, I can't imagine that you would, but for extra credit: As this linked article shows, we see AP surrealistically covering their own treachery ... do you think surrealism will become the answer to establishment's medias maxed out level of perversity in journalism? Where else do they have to go at this point?
